Ian Joseph Tesorero Taupa

Say hello to “Ian” Joseph Taupa, a 26-year-old who joined the fandom just as the VISION era kicked in. Even though he’s a bit of a newbie fan, Ian’s all about supporting Dreamcatcher. Let’s dive into Ian’s awesome story about Dreamcatcher and his fanboy life.

How did you become an InSomnia?
“My childhood friend mentioned Dreamcatcher to me, but he wasn’t a fan yet. So, at one point, I searched them up and stumbled upon MAISON in September 2022. Then I fell in love with their unique style and dug deeper into their music. I never escaped their black hole, but no regrets at all. Then I became an InSomnia, and the rest is history.”

What initially drew you to become an InSomnia and support Dreamcatcher?
“Anime OP/J-Rock-inspired music style, their personalities, S-tier vocals, sisterly bond, their versatility, funny antics, and their own brand of chaos.”

Have you attended any Dreamcatcher concerts or fan meetings? Share your favorite experience.
“Yes. The most recent concert I attended was their ‘Under the Moonlight in Manila’ concert. That day was amazing. My favorite experiences were queuing for tickets early in the morning, joining the DCPH Official fan club (activities), then participating in the fan zone before the actual concert. Finally, seeing Dreamcatcher in person and watching their awesome performances live, while interacting with local and international Somnias during the concert.”

How do you express your support for Dreamcatcher, whether through fan projects or social media?
“By mostly listening to their songs on Spotify, purchasing their merchandise such as albums, photocards, robes, and lightsticks, as well as liking their official page’s posts and supporting/following their Instagram accounts.”

What are your hopes and expectations for Dreamcatcher’s future, both as a group and in connection with the fandom?
“To stay as a 7-member group for (999999) years and continue showing love to their fans. To earn more opportunities and win many more music show awards. Then, go on a world tour, covering NORTH AMERICA, LATIN AMERICA, EUROPE, and ASIA—especially in South East Asia.”

If you had the opportunity to convey a message and anniversary greeting to Dreamcatcher, what would it be?
“Hello and happy 7th anniversary, Dreamcatcher! May you girls have many more years as Dreamcatcher, and we, InSomnias, are following right behind you, our seven wonderful queens! Looking forward to more Dreamcatcher concerts and the many adventures we will all have with you girls! Fighting!”

Ian is currently employed as a Junior Software tester, and he jokes that it is his source of funds to buy more Dreamcatcher merchandise. He also contributes to fan-driven projects whenever he can. Cars and driving top his hobby list, along with a keen interest in video games and learning Korean. When it comes to food, he often goes for burgers, sandwiches, and flavored chicken wings from fast-food joints. A unique fact about Ian is his ability to sit comfortably in the “W” position, and he’s proud to share that he can fluently sing some Korean songs.

Can you share a memorable moment or experience related to your journey as an InSomnia?
“When I attended their 2nd concert in the Philippines, it was my FIRST-EVER Dreamcatcher concert after I had prayed countless times for them to visit here since becoming an InSomnia.”

How do you stay connected with fellow InSomnias and engage in the fandom community?
“By joining local fan club group chats and using Discord, Twitch, or Instagram to connect with international InSomnias.”

What role does Dreamcatcher play in your life, and how has it impacted you or your personal life?
“They bring me energy and motivation, especially at work. They helped me to not get distracted and finish my work tasks.” He also added, “InSomnia life has given me new people to interact with, new music to enjoy, and more time to touch some grass.”

Which Dreamcatcher song resonates with you the most, and why?
“’ALWAYS’, in my opinion, reflects their love for each other as sisters and the affection they have for their fans. Additionally, when they won their first music show trophy, it showcased the love and effort they’ve put in over the years.”

How do you balance being an InSomnia with other aspects of your life?
“By thinking of Dreamcatcher as my source of happiness, energy, and motivation especially when it comes to work and generally, in life.”

Do you have any Dreamcatcher merchandise, whether official or unofficial? If yes, which item is your favorite or your prized possession in your entire collection and why?
“Yes, the photocards. They are more memorable because their presence feels like they’re with us wherever we go.”
